Whether you’re involved in a civil or criminal case in Van Nuys or simply serving jury duty, you likely landed on this blog post because you’re looking for information on parking at the Van Nuys courthouse and as criminal defense attorneys that have appeared in Van Nuys hundreds of times over the past 20 years we have a few tips.
First and foremost, there’s meter parking on Delano St. as well as Sylvan St. just east of Van Nuys Blvd. but the chances of finding a spot during peak times are slim. And depending on why you’re at the courthouse and how long you’ll be there, the parking meter will run out after 1-2 hours (based on the current rates) requiring you to keep checking on it or run the risk of getting a ticket.
Alternatively, there are private parking garages nearby as well as parking on Van Nuys Blvd., though the spaces are limited, so we suggest arriving early to secure a spot and therefore remove that extra stress of appearing on time.
The point is: Parking anywhere in Los Angeles is always a pain, especially in Van Nuys, and that last thing you want is to give yourself plenty of time to arrive at court but not anticipate the time it will take to actually find a spot.
